Andersen awning windows.
Andersen Awning windows pivot or "hinge" at the top of the window and the bottom opens out. This type of window is very useful in designs that require "low to the floor" or "high to the ceiling" windows. They provide ventilation and can even remain open during gentle rains.
Perma-shield Awning windows were first introduced in 1967. The Perma-shield system that was invented then is still state of the art today. The exterior of the window is covered in vinyl for maximum protection from the elements. The wood core is what separates this window from a typical vinyl window. The wood gives the vinyl rigidity and the vinyl in turn stabilizes the wood. This marriage of parts that happened in the 60's was the beginning of the Perma-Shield system. It was innovative then and it still applies today.
